The Six Simple Steps to Hitting the High Seas

Sailing around the world is something that had always fascinated us - the thought of simplifying our lives, being outside on the water, and traveling to remote places has always been a dream. Last year we decided to make it our reality and have been working towards it since July 2014.

Step One:
In May we sold our house! We took having our house on the market for only 3 hours as a sign that we were meant to do this!

Step Two:
Load the furniture we decided to keep onto a truck and drive back to Ontario for storage and to say goodbye to family.

Step Three:
In June we moved into our awesome friend's basement while we boat shopped and wrapped up everything in Canada. Thanks Mel, Mark and Liv!

Step Four:
Find a boat - this was the lynch pin in our plan. It's hard to sail without a boat! After much searching and one deal that fell through we finally found our boat in NYC just last week!!

Step Five:
Get our stuff to NY. All our worldly possessions in a 3x4 storage unit in New York awaiting our arrival.

Step Six:
Start Sailing!!! Our closing date is September 8 and we're flying from Halifax to New York that morning!
